The houses
The Triple-Decker
Three apartments stacked on a narrow lot, usually with one family's decisions affecting two others. These stories take the questions a three-decker raises and no other house does: converting one floor at a time, who gets to decide, how air moves through balloon framing, and where three outdoor machines can possibly go. Worcester is where the form probably began, so it is where these stories start.
